POLICY AND PROCEDURE OF ON JOB TRAINING 
IIAS provides on the job training to students On Lear Jet24E & MIG-21 aircraft within its own premises. The main objective of on the job training is to give exposure to the maintenance activities on both mechanical & avionics systems of light & heavy aircraft.

Keeping in view of the above objective, the OJT programme is conducted as per following procedures complying all the requiremnets as spelt in CAR section-2, Series E-VIII Appendix 'V' latest revision:

1. The students are briefed about the safety precuation to be observed while working in and around the aircraft. The importance of adehering to perosnal safety is also emphasied.

2. Students are familrized with the documents pertaining to the aircraft (Learjet-24E) i.e. work order, discrepancy form, flight logbook, engine service record, aircraft logbook, airworthiness approval tag, service manual, flight manual, engine maintenance manual, illustrated prats catalogue etc.

3. Students are acquainted with the identification and used of difference tools uses in aircraft in day to day activities and also with special tools used in some special task carried out on aircraft like throttle control wiring, compressor wash etc.

4. Physical demonstration of different activities like fuel filter removal, cleaning, inspection and firment, starter generator removal and installation etc as per the Aircraft Maintenance Manual and task cards.

5. Line module which includes preflight inspection, post flight inspection as per Aircraft Maintenance Manual.

6. Base module, which includes 100 Hrs and 300 Hrs inspection.

7. Students are also given demonstration of enigne run up and the procedure of monitoring different parameters during the same.

The institute's Avionics Lab, Airframe shop and Engine shop is worth of pride as it not only includes the latest indigenously built test equipment for checking and testing sophisticated avionics equipments but also includes item/equipments from different types of aircrafts to give the student an in-depth view of items/equipments of latest aircraft. The library mirrors the current advancement made in the sphere of Technology & Engineering. Our institute is equipped with a library having large collection of DVDs, CDs, CBTs on AME subjects and computers with Broadband Internet facilities. An enriched library is an essential requisite of an Engineering or Technical Institution. We also provide Audio-Visual training with these digital media's as a part of our constant endeavor to enrich our training programme and for the better understanding of the subjects.
